Laminate Flooring VS Carpet Flooring

Flooring is one of the important parts of the house. Without good flooring, the home looks boring and barren. However, if you wish to choose the good flooring, laminate wood flooring and carpet floorings are the best options and the cheapest ones. Roughly 50% of the Americans go for carpet flooring because it is a convenient option.
Here are the few points of difference regarding better flooring option:
  1. Durability: If we talk about durability, then both the floorings have equal durability. Both the flooring lasts for maximum 15 years and then you need a replacement. However, the important point is cleaning. If a carpet isn't cleaned from time to time it could store dust and cause allergy. Laminate flooring just needs normal sweeping and moping.
  1. Look and Feel: The feel of carpet is warm and soft and most people prefer that as compare to the hardwood. The feel of carpet is indeed soft but due to dust and pollen, it becomes rough and uneven. Once it becomes dirty, the look of carpet diminishes gradually. With hardwood floor, there is never an issue of look or feel.
  1. Cost of installation: When it comes to installation, carpet and hardwood both costs same. Carper costs $3 to $5 per square foot while same is for hardwood. Both can also be installed with DIY technique. Both are easy to install but requires finishing to be done properly. Thus, here experts step in. 1. Composition: The carpet flooring is made up of synthetic material such as nylon, polyester, or polypropylene. While the laminated hardwood is a synthetic fiberboard product. It usually has four layers: a stabilizing layer, a layer of treated high-density fiberboard, a photographic pattern layer, and
    a clear melamine resin layer.
  1. Upkeep: For the regular nourishment of your flooring, the option is steam cleaning, vacuum cleaning, partial replacement and full replacement. It is held on to dust and mites which could cause allergy. Thus, regular cleaning is very necessary. The laminate hardwood flooring should be kept clean with the help of free of moisture, avoid causing damage, use pads on the feet of furniture. Do not let the water sit because it cannot be sanded and refinished.
According to above comparison, the laminated hardwood flooring is a better option as compared to carpet flooring. Wood flooring has more pros than cons as compared to carpet.
